The Town of Glen St. Mary held the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 7:02 P.M. at the Town Hall with Council Members Davis, Foster, Reneau, and Rhynehardt present. Mayor Juanice Padgett presided over the meeting. She asked Council Member Davis to open with prayer followed by the flag salute.
Minutes: Consideration – Approval of minutes of July 15, 2014 – Workshop and July 15, 2014 – Regular Monthly Meeting: On a motion by Council Member Davis, second by Councilman Rhynehardt, the Board voted to approve theminutes as presented. (Vote 5-0)

Approve an Addendum to the Interlocal Agreement Between the Town and Baker County Re: Local Option Gas Tax. - Mayor Padgett told Council the Town currently pays the County all the Local Option Gas Tax we receive from the state to cover work the County does for the Town. She met with several County employees to discuss the possibility of keeping a portion because we have not used the County as much in recent years. The County has already approved the Addendum allowing the Town to retain $5,000 which will take effect for the current budget year. On a motion by Councilman Rhynehardt, second by Council Member Davis, the Board voted to approve the Addendum to the Interlocal Agreement between the Town and Baker County Re: Local Option Gas Tax as it was presented. (Vote 5-0)

Review of Resolution Number 2014-03 Regarding the Water and Wastewater Rate Increase. – Mayor Padgett told council the Resolution will be voted on next month due to missing the deadline to run an ad in the local newspaper. Mayor Padgett took a poll of the Council members to see if they were ready to run the ad in the paper. Mayor Padgett reminded Council the anticipated increase in revenue will be designated for future replacement. Councilman Reneau asked how much that will be. Mayor Padgett responded it should be $14,350 for water revenue and $3,600 for sewer revenue. Councilman Reneau then asked what will happen if the customers do not use more and fix the leaks they have. Mayor Padgett responded the Town will simply not have the money to put back into a special revenue account and will have to work towards something else.

Review Prior Month’s Expenditures (Check Register) – Council had no questions about the prior month’s expenditures.
Council had a brief discussion on the cracked sidewalks. Councilman Reneau made the suggestion that maintenance employees should keep the backhoe off the sidewalks. Mayor Padgett responded that perhaps the Town should look at buying a small piece of equipment for smaller jobs.
