The Town of Glen St. Mary held the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall with Council Members Davis, Foster, Rhynehardt, and Reneau present. Mayor Juanice Padgett presided over the meeting and Council Member Davis opened the meeting with prayer followed by the flag salute.

Minutes: Consideration – Approval of minutes of May 20, 2014 – Regular Monthly Meeting: On a motion by Councilman Rhynehardt, second by Council Member Davis, the Board voted to approve theminutes as presented. (Vote 5-0)

Policy Agenda Items:

A)    Schedule a Workshop to Discuss Water/Sewer Rate Study – Mayor Padgett told Council the Rural Water Association has done a water rate study for the Town and she would like to have a workshop to go over what Mr. Bob Mearns suggest. Councilman Reneau asked if this was for a rate hike in the water bills. Mayor Padgett answered saying it is possible. Mayor Padgett stated the workshop needed to be before the next regular meeting in case Council decided to do a rate increase, we would need to advertise and change the Ordinance. The Town also needs to look at the replacement of equipment and see where we are at financially. Several schedule conflicts with Council caused the workshop to be scheduled for July 15, 2014 at 5:30 PM just prior to the next regular monthly meeting.

B)    Review Prior Month’s Expenditures (Check Register) – Councilman Rhynehardt had a few questions about the prior month’s expenditures.   He asked about expenditures from USA Bluebook and Home Depot. Mayor Padgett explained maintenance orders water supplies from USA Bluebook and we ordered fencing from Home Depot to replace fencing after installing a gravity flow sewer line.

Mayor Padgett asked if Council had any questions. Councilman Reneau asked about the grant. Mayor Padgett told Council we did not proceed with it because the new points did not go into effect during this cycle. The Rural Water Association has a new grant for Readiness to Proceed that we will complete an application.

On a motion by Councilman Reneau, the Town meeting was adjourned at 7:13 P.M.
