Minutes: Consideration:

  1. Approval of minutes of September 19, 2017 – Workshop; September 19, 2017 – Regular Monthly Meeting; and September 26, Workshop: On a motion by Councilmember Davis, second by Council member Hodges, the Board voted to approve theminutes as presented. (Vote 5-0)

    Policy Agenda Items:

    1. Review Prior Month’s Expenditures (Check Register) – Council member Davis asked if we have a total cost for the Hurricane Irma cleanup. Mayor Padgett responded that she had just met with the FEMA representative earlier Tuesday morning and we have to see if they are going to calculate it by the cubic foot. Mayor Padgett then told Council she had been getting bids for the tree removal on the Reneau property. She had spoken with Mr. Vern Donaldson about getting a bid, but he has been injured and is in the hospital, so she does not want to reveal the bids until she has gotten one from him. She also received notice earlier in the day that the Town can put the project out for bid, after the bid is advertised it will take 30 days before contract can be awarded. Council member Hodges told Council she felt the residents were glad the storm debris was cleaned up so quickly. She felt hiring out the teens was a time saver and it would have taken the two maintenance workers a long time to get it all cleaned up by themselves. Mayor Padgett pointed out that the Town paid for lunch while the teens were here working. Council had no other questions about the prior month’s expenditures.

On a motion by Councilman Rhynehardt, second by Council member Davis the Town meeting was adjourned at 7:05 P.M.
